P7: Unlock the Code of Integrity: A Successful Interactive Online Scavenger Hunt Module
Teresa Balfour Brown (Torrens University Australia)
“Unlock the Code of Integrity” is an interactive online scavenger hunt developed in Articulate Rise and launched during T2 Academic Integrity Week at Torrens University. Designed to engage students in learning key principles of academic integrity, the module received a positive and engaged response from students. Structured around the word “INTEGRITY,” it features eight lessons covering topics such as referencing, paraphrasing, collusion vs collaboration, contract cheating, and responsible use of AI tools. Each lesson uses scenario-based learning, interactive activities, and knowledge checks to reveal hidden letters of the secret word. Upon completion, students write a personal integrity pledge, reinforcing the values explored throughout the module. Those who completed both the module and pledge were entered into a draw to win one of two $50 gift cards, boosting engagement. This initiative demonstrates the power of combining educational content with interactive design to foster deeper understanding and personal commitment to academic honesty. It also offers a scalable model for future integrity campaigns and contributes meaningfully to the national conversation on academic integrity in higher education.
