Academic integrity is often framed through misconduct, penalties and risk. This digital poster presents an alternative, education-first approach led by the Office of Educational Integrity in the University of Sydney, communicating integrity as a supportive, student-centred practice embedded across the whole student journey.

The poster will share how OEI uses collaborative communication and engagement strategies to make academic integrity visible, approachable and consistent from orientation through to ongoing learning and assessment. Working across university teams, including student life, learning hub, careers centre, and student support, OEI creates multiple communication points where students can encounter clear expectations, practical guidance and legitimate support.

A key feature is the development of a distinctive OEI identity through the “Integritree” branding, inspired by the jacaranda tree as a recognisable symbol of growth on the University of Sydney campus. The message “academic integrity helps you grow” reframes integrity from something students may associate with fear or punishment into something connected to learning, belonging, confidence and future professional practice.

Through examples such as Welcome Fest activations, merchandise, AI and contract cheating messaging, the poster will highlight how communication can shape integrity culture by making support recognisable, memorable and present across the student experience.
